Wooden Memorial Bench Safety

In the interest of visitor safety and site appearance we are currently conducting an inspection of all the wooden benches within the grounds. Many of these benches are in excess of 20 years old and have fallen into a state of disrepair.

We are keeping a record of all the benches that need to be repaired and those we have had to remove. We will endeavour to contact the owners however many of the records we have are unfortunately very old.

Bench owners are reminded that they are responsible for the safe condition of their memorial bench. If you have any concerns regarding a wooden bench or require further information please contact Richard Norris at the cemetery office.
